Happy Fall, fellow band alumni! Welcome to the 2008 2009 school year, and another great year of alumni activities centered around our JTHS Bands.

Annual Meeting!!
The 2008 Annual Meeting of the Band Alumni Association will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at 6:00 pm at Maurie's Table on Glenwood Ave just west of Joliet West High School. Topics currently on the agenda include election of officers for 2008 2009, plans for the upcoming year, long range planning for the 100th anniversary concert(s) and surrounding events. We will schedule the meetings for the upcoming year as well as working sessions to continue locating and expanding the alumni group. Positions available include President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and a three year Board of Directors term.

Fall Homecoming
JTHS Alumni Association's Homecoming "Welcome Back" Party will be held at 7PM Friday, October 3, 2008, at Heroes West. An abundant and very tasty variety of complimentary hors d'oeuvres will be served throughout the evening. Cash bar. Cost is just $5.00 per person at the door.
The Homecoming Football game will be held at Joliet West High School, Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 1:00pm. Come out and join your fellow alumni to see the JT Marching Band perform their 2009 show based on the hit musical Chess. It's already looking and sounding great and in another month will be awesome.

Winter Homecoming
It's gonna be an unlucky night for Carl Sandburg! Mark your calendars for Friday, February 13, 2009. We will once again join Mike Fiske and the JT Pep Band for the last Friday home game of the season.   Call will be at 5:45pm in the band room. Following the game we'll be going out for refreshments, but unfortunately, unless something changes between now and then, it won't be the traditional Keg, as it recently changed hands and is no longer open in the evenings.   We'll see where we wind up, the only guarantee is that we'll have a blast!

Administrivia
There are a few details that we would be remiss if they were to be left out. First off, please remember that JTHS BAA 2008 2009 dues are coming due as of October 1, 2008. Feel free to submit them along with the enclosed information form so we have the most current information for you so that you continue to receive our latest updates. Also included on the form this fall is a long term question referring back to the mailing last winter about the Mid West Band & Orchestra Clinic held annually at the Chicago Hilton and Towers the week before Christmas. We realize that this is a very busy time of year for everyone, and we're trying to feel out how many people would be willing to commit to a potential performance that week. If there are enough, we will put an application together in early 2012 to be considered for participation.
Please note that in the next update after the annual meeting will be the full meeting schedule for the upcoming year, including bi monthly working sessions which have tentatively been scheduled for both Tuesday and Thursday evenings to allow for people that wish to help us in locating fellow alumni but can't make meetings on Wednesdays. We hope that this will get some others outside the core group involved with the organization on a regular basis.
