Greetings, fellow alumni!
 
This is more a quick note to all the alumni we have mailing information for. The information contains some things that have already come out via email, but we want to get the widest distribution possible for these upcoming events so that everyone has the opportunity to join us!
 
In date order, June 4th, the Joliet Central Big Band is opening the 2009 BiCentennial Park Concerts on the Hill series.  Concerts start at 6:30pm.  Also on the schedule later in the summer, the Joliet Central Symphonic Band on August 20th and the JTHS Orchestra on August 27th.
 
On Tuesday, June 16th, the Joliet West Marching Band will be playing at the Joliet Jackhammers game.  The JTHS Alumni have been invited to join them both on the field (if there are enough people able to participate) and in the stands.  Call is at 5:15pm at the park (Jefferson and Mayor Art Shultz Dr, parking available at many of the JT Central lots and other surrounding locations.)  One detail for all Jackhammer games is that anyone participating in activities like this require a ticket.  Please let us know if you’re going to attending so that we can make arrangements for tickets.  Tickets are $7 per person.  Please include payment for tickets when you return the enclosed information form so that we can reserve your space.
 
Lastly, on Saturday, June 20th, the JTHS Band Alumni Association will be hosting a picnic at Joliet Park District’s Inwood Park – the small pavilion; the entrance is off of Jefferson St, just west of the main building…it also shares the entrance to the golf course.  We’ll be starting at 1pm and will be there until who knows when…or sundown.  The Alumni Association will be providing hot dogs, chips, drinks, and some side dishes.  If you want, please bring a dish to pass, and if there are other things you’d like to have grilled (or help us grill) please bring them, too!  There will be games and other activities, and most importantly, your company!  If you plan on attending, please let us know via the enclosed return form so that we have a reasonably accurate idea of how many will be attending.
 
On a slightly different note, if you haven’t yet joined the Alumni Association, or need to renew your membership for this year, please enclose your dues with the enclosed return form.  Know your dues go to good use, as each year we give each campus band a donation of $500 for them to use in any way they desire to further their programs!
