Jan. 2010 Regular Meeting Minutes

JTHS BAA MEETING MINUTES FOR JANUARY 13, 2010

Attendance: Melissa, Megan, Art, Jan, Brad, Mary Beth

October meeting minutes were not kept. October meeting dealt with making of baskets for the Scotch Doubles Bowling Party.

The treasurers report was reviewed and accepted. A total of 61 paid up members are counted. There have have 3 additions since pamphlet was mailed. The total profit from the bowling party was $477.00

Checks in the amount of $500.00 will be presented to the JTC band on the night of the basketball game.

Another check will be presented to Kevin Carroll for JTW.

Social activities planned are for the basketball game on Feb. 12, 2010. An e-mail will be sent by Jan to remind members of the activity prior to that Friday. Pizza's will be ordered on that night from Little Ceasars at $5 / pizza. The number of pizzas will be determined when we know the count that night.

It will be announced that night to those high schoolers present about the Logo contest and picnic for June 2010. The Board will make flyers to advertise the Logo contest and place flyers in both band rooms and possibly in music folios.

New Business:

The date for the Summer Picnic was recommended for Saturday, June 5th. Art suggested the board consider the pavilion near JuCo vs Inwood and have picnic in May. Subject to be discussed again.

Tony Contos is working on an exhibit at the Joliet Historical Museum in 2012 , the 100th Anniversary of the band. The Board recommended Tony be asked to a meeting to provide information on his requests. Brad will check on his availability.

Future projects include dates for the 2012 concert, more recruiting and finding updated addresses from Alumni lists for future mailings.

Next meeting is a working session on Feb 8th, 2110. Next regular meeting is March 10, 2010 at JTW Library.
