JTHS BAA MEETING MINUTES FOR APRIL 7, 2009

Attendance: Jan, Brad, Art, Gene, Mary Beth

The meeting minutes from the February 2009 meeting were read and stand corrected to say that the JTHS BAA website is linked to Gene D.'s account and the BAA is reimbursing Gene D. for the defraying cost of hosting and the domain website. Also the name David Gillingham(corrected spelling not Gilliam) mentioned as possible candidate to write a commemorative piece. Corrrected minutes were accepted by Gene and 2nd by Mary Beth.

The treasurers report was read and Jan found a 21 cent monthly service charge from Jan. 09. This amount was for FDIC

insurability increase. Jan will monitor for any further service fees. The report was then accepted by Art and 2nd by Gene .

There are still questions regarding an insurance contract. Questions posed are what does it cover for us....amount per event vs per year. Handouts were provided to read over and a vote to be decided before June 2009 picnic.

Gene showed us the website and some possiblilites to link with the high school. Also each board member's address is automatically linked to their home e-mail address.

New Business: The First Annual Picnic will be scheduled for June 20 2009 starting at 1:00pm - ??. All high school band members will be invited. Sign ups will be placed in each band room to attempt to obtain a count. All alumni are also invited per e -ge mail as well as through a mailing to come and join in for a fun time. The board will be looking at getting some games available for that day such as bean bag toss, volleyball and net. Some board games and cards will also be available. The alumni assoc will provide hot dogs, soda and chips. We will also need ice coolers charcoal, plates/napkins. silverware. Alumni members will be asked to bring a dish to pass. We hope for this to be a fun and successful event to get together with all of our present and future alumni members. We would especially like to welcome and congratulate the graduating seniors from each school.

Mary Beth will check with band alumni Pete Toth if Certified Foods would contribute or offer any discount on any food supplies.

The next board get together will be a working session scheduled for Tuesday, May 12 th at 7pm. The next regular meeting will be Wed. June 10th at 7pm at JTW Library.
